“I started looking for a surgeon that was in my network and Dr. Vafa Shayani was one of my choices. I knew from talking to him once that he was the best choice for me. He explained the different surgeries I could choose and what would be most fitting for me. He was able to answer all my questions and made me feel at ease by his amazing bedside manner. I chose to have the gastric sleeve and had surgery on September 6, 2018. He was there each part of the way. I didn’t do well coming out of the anesthesia, it made me very nauseous. He waited in the recovery room to make sure I was okay. He called that evening to check to see how I was doing and stopped in the next morning to see how I was doing. He continued to check on me even after I went home. He truly cares about his patients and wants to ensure they are doing well…(My)Highest weight was 245 and current weight is 145. It makes me feel really good that I have accomplished what I have, and my success is due to having the right surgeon!”
